Are you looking for something fun to do in the Bay Area? Want to see an amazingly beautiful view?

Check out Point Bonita Lighthouse.

It only took me 20 years of living in the Bay Area to discover this beautiful place – about 15 minutes from my home! I’m not sure how I missed this wonderful staycation destination spot located right here in the Marin Headlands.

The lighthouse is at the end of a paved pathway. Perfect walking excursion you can do with the kids or grandma!

The views from the path and the Lighthouse are amazing!

After you visit the Lighthouse, if you are still feeling adventuresome you can explore the old military bunkers located nearby.

Special thanks to dear daughter who showed us this place. She discovered many cool places in Marin during her adventurous teenage years.

That does look like a fun destination. When my son was younger he used to love lighthouses and we went to many, from North Carolina up to Massachusetts. (We live in Maryland.) Last spring we went to a state park in Delaware with WWII watchtowers and old bunkers. Very interesting.
