Hidden Realms of Adult Coloring

The Hidden Realms of Adult Coloring. The title almost sounds X rated.

Have you heard about the latest craze of adult coloring books?

Adult coloring books are like the kale of the creativity world. Instead of being a super food, the books give us super health benefits

Similar to meditation, coloring in a coloring book reduces stress and calms your heart rate. The focus required to color; deciding which colors to use and trying to stay within the lines keeps your mind in the present moment. And, helps to switch off all those other thoughts of worry and anxiety that often inhabit our brains.

Earlier this year, I was talking to my creative, genius friend Suzanna Stinnett. We started talking about coloring. I got really excited and told her I was in the market to buy an adult coloring book, she told me she was in the process of designing an adult coloring book! She asked me if I would be one of her test colorers, it was like a match made in heaven!

I loved being a test colorist and I found it so relaxing and rewarding to color. I’d come home from a stressful day of work and spend a little time coloring and end up feeling relaxed.

My first reaction to coloring was, “After spending most of my life coloring (living) outside of the lines, it was nice to try to stay within the lines, for once.”

After our conversation, Suzanna got busy. She finished creating the coloring books and they are now for sale on Amazon! Mine just arrived in the mail!

By the way, it was an honor to discover the cover she chose for this book was one of the original test pages I colored!

Sally dear! You’ve been such an amazing support for my process in building my little Coloring Camelot world. Thank you again for this lovely article and your clarity about the benefits and value of coloring. I’ve just begun to branch out into making special coloring books that help with early dementia. I get my courage from friends like you! Thanks so much,
    Suzanna Stinnett
