Today is the Marin TweetUp at Wipe Out Marin in Bon Air. I’m really excited about this TweetUp because I’ve been thinking about trying Wipe Out Marin for quite some time and just haven’t yet. Thanks to the TweetUp I will.
Wipe Out has always attracted me because it reminds me of Southern California where I grew up. From the outside it looks like a fun kind of restaurant you would see on a white sandy beach. The kind you would want to sit down at and stay for awhile. Besides I love supporting business that get the importance of social media and appreciate the Twitter community.
I’m looking forward to seeing my favorite Twitter friends and to meeting new ones.
If you happen to be nearby today between 4-6pm please stop by to say hi.
Wipe Out Marin will donate 20% of all TweetUp proceeds to Haiti relief today.

Today I went to Trader Joe’s in Larkspur Greenbrae at lunch time. (So my last post about Trader Joe’s said it was in Larkspur but I just looked at the official Trader Joe’s site and the address is actually in Greenbrae.) I think I will forever be confused to the city/town borders of Larkspur, Greenbrae, Corte Madera and Kentfield but I’ll leave that for another post. I’m still thrilled about the fact there is now a Trader Joe’s closer to Southern Marin.
Although, I’m wondering how the other stores in the Cost Plus Center feel about the new traffic in their parking lot and the carts left all over the parking lot and on the side walks.
Warning Sally rant about to start:
I thought Marin people were civilized people! What is up with the carts left every which way all over the parking lot, on the sidewalk, in the parking places? Come on people! Can we show a little appreciation and at least put our carts away or put them in the designated cart drop off places?
Today I had to pass up two parking places because there were carts left in them and while I was driving around the parking lot I saw employees from one of the other stores moving carts from in front of their entrances and off of the sidewalks in front of their stores.
This is not a complaint about the Trader Joe’s employees, I’ve seen them working hard rounding up the carts. This is a request to the shopper’s of the Greenbrae Trader Joe’s to show a little common courtesy and put your carts away!
Thank you. I’m done now.
Stay tuned for your regular happy, positive Sally posts.

Last night I went to the Marin Women’s Dance. I was impressed with how many women were there. I don’t know the exact count but my guess would be around 200. The dance was held at Jason’s restaurant in Greenbrae. The cover charge of $15 was well worth it. I’d say the crowd was mostly 35 and older and very friendly and welcoming. The venue offered a delicious buffet included in the $15 cover. The buffet had Dragon Prawns, Tempura Green Beans (healthy fries), Salad, Lasagna, Pizza, Sandwich fixins and Cheesecake!
What I especially liked about this dance club was the set up. The room had tables and chairs around the dance floor. Outside there was a very nice open seating area, along with a covered heated patio area with a view of Corte Madera Creek. It was great to be able to go outside and talk with others in between dancing. Most dance clubs are so loud you can’t talk to your friends. I enjoyed the mix of dancing and socializing. The DJ from Denon and Doyle had a selection of music for everyone. The music ranged from Big Band to Two-Step to Hip Hop to Rock to Disco.
It is different to dance on an all women’s dance floor. No one is trying to grope you or freak dance with you. You can squeeze through the crowd without someone grabbing your butt or “accidentally” brushing against your chest. (I’m not implying that all men do this just saying this often happens at co-ed dances/bars and has never happened to me at all women dances.) Everyone is just dancing and having fun.
