Last Sunday we went to a violin concert in San Francisco at Old Firsts. This is not my usual activity but staying true to my blog mission (of getting out of my comfort zone and trying new things) I said sure! Plus, our friend Aenea Keyes was the violinist and she is fantastic.
After the concert, we decided to stay in the city for dinner. We ended up at the hip, chic restaurant Lime on Market Street (near the Castro). We had been there years ago but I could not remember the name. I said it’s something like Blue or Pink or something… the name is Lime but the lighting is pink and the décor is white. So colors are definitely a theme of this place. Being in a colorful mood I decided to try something completely new. I ordered a Green Appletini! It was yummy, tasted somewhat like a green jolly rancher but not that sweet. It was smooth and beautiful and tasty! Celia ordered a Prohibition Speakeasy Dark beer. She described it as “stout and lager mix, really good and a tad bit hoppy but less hoppy than a pale ale”.
Lime is the kind of place where you order small dishes and share. My kind of place!
We started with Miso Glazed Sea Bass served in lettuce cups with cucumber and a soy dipping sauce. Then Cornmeal dusted Mahi Mahi fish tacos with guacamole and tomato. We finished off the meal with Two Way Filet Mignon served with “delicate red wine butter sauce, salsa verde and mini sprouts”.
I love the ambiance of Lime. The white furniture and the pink lighting is just plain cool! The handsome waiter, Kufi… well he is also nice to look at. *wink*
Kufi informed us that Tuesday nights are Ladies Nights at Lime. Meaning ladies get half off the menu! I think you will be seeing me there again soon on an upcoming Tuesday night.
