I was immediately fascinated by Laura Del Rosso when I met her at the Pearltrees blogger lunch at the Waterbar in San Francisco. She wrote a book titled Great Escapes: Northern California and has created some travel apps for San Francisco. She agreed to be interviewed!

Lots of frozen yogurt in Mill Valley

Share

Mill Valley is special. We have two Whole Foods within 1.2 miles of each other and we have two frozen yogurt places within two blocks of each other not to mention the one located downtown or the one in Strawberry Village. Off the top of my head I can think of four frozen yogurt places in Mill Valley (and Mill Valley is not a big city!) Funny thing is, only 13,000 people live in Mill Valley. I guess you could say Mill Valley really likes healthy food and frozen yogurt.

Sushi, Sushi and more Sushi

I have come to realize that Marin County is full of great Sushi restaurants. This past weekend I tried an old favorite that I have not been to in years. I went to Robata Grill & Sushi in Mill Valley right off of Highway 101. I really like the atmosphere of Robata, they have lots of semi private booths to sit in so it’s a great place to go when you want to have a conversation with the person you are dining with and actually hear everything they have to say.

According to our friends, if we were going to buy fine wines we needed fine wine tools such as a Wine Saver to preserve our wine after opening. They said the best place to get this was at Dean and Deluca located in St. Helena.

Fourth Street in Berkeley

Share

Today I went to Berkeley with Twitter friend @PoButler to meet with Analisa from the Corte Madera Town Center who we met at the Pacific Catch TweetUp. We met to talk social networking (my favorite thing to talk about). It was fun! Thanks to Peggy and Analisa I have now discovered Fourth Street in Berkeley. It’s a charming little street full of shops, cafés, a toy store and even a Chocolatier. Now, I’m wishing I would have remembered to take pictures at Chocolatier Blue, they had the most amazing organic, colorful, sparkly chocolates.

Andy’s Local Market in San Rafael

When Sally asked me if I’d like to write a guest blog post about one of my favorite local businesses, Andy’s Local Market, my neighborhood grocery store immediately came to mind because Andy’s is a hidden gem. Andy’s Local Market is located in the Loch Lomond neighborhood in San Rafael, along Pt San Pedro Rd, on the way to Peacock Gap and China Camp.
